On Dec. 31, 2007, the Lord called home Billy Gene Maness of
Ozona. Bill was bom in Baird, Texas on April 21, 1935 to Allen Wilfi’ed
and Willie Iris Maness. He grew up in Ozona and was a member
of the Ozona Church of Christ. He was married to his high school
sweetheart for 54 years. He raised his family in Eldorado Texas,
while working for 39 years at the Southwest Texas Co-op. He and
his wife relocated to Ozona in 1991 to be closer to their children and
grandchildren. He was an active member of the ranching community
in Schleicher, Crockett, Val Verde and Kimble counties. He was a
family man that was a friend to everyone. He is loved and will be
missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister June
Meadows, sister Sue Staley and son-in-law Tom Williams.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen Maness, their two
daughters, Rosellen Williams of Little Elm, Texas and Vonda Flanagan
and her husband, Stanley Flanagan of Ozonas. He is also survived
by sisters Lou Dugan of Clyde, Texas, Betty Boatman of Many,
La., Pauline Bentley and her husband Jack Bentley of Ozona, two
bothers, James and his wife Barbara Maness of Farmington, N.M.
and Weldon and his wife Barbara Maness of Ozona. His grandchildren
Jimmy Williams of Little Elm, Texas, Hollie (Williams) Gonzales
and her husband David Gonzales of Frisco, Texas, Camelia
Williams of Little Elm, Texas, Lindsy Bean and her husband Wesley
Bean of Ozona, Helena Scherr and her husband Brian Scherr of Aubrey,
Texas, Chad Flanagan and his wife Sherrrie Flanagan of Ozona
and Amanda Williams of Little Elm, Texas. His great-grandchildren
Gregory Scherr, Isabella Williams, Nicholas Gonzales, Skylar Lacy,
Reagan Gonzales and Kurt Bean.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Graveside services were
Wednesday, Jan. 2 in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Kerbow
Funeral Home in Sonora.
