Michael "Mikey" Ybarra Jr.

On May 28th, 2014 Michael Ybarra Jr (Mikey) graduated from Ozona High School and three very short years later, on May 28th, 2017 our beloved Mikey graduated from this life and was welcomed into the gates of Heaven.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday May 31st, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Lima Cemetery. Arrangements by Kerbow Funeral Home.

Mikey, 21, was born on Oct. 2nd, 1995 in San Angelo, Texas. He was a member of OLPH Catholic Church where he was an alter server and member of the youth group.

As mentioned before, he was a graduate of Ozona High School Class of 2014. While attending school he was active in all sports: football, basketball, baseball and track. Upon graduating high school, he attended Howard College in San Angelo, Texas. After a year in San Angelo, Mikey decided his heart belonged home with his family. He began working alongside his dad, grandpa, and other family members in Barnhart, Texas.

Three things Mikey valued most in his life were: Faith, Family and Football. Through his love for God, he continuously had faith and believed anything was possible, and if there wasn't a way, he would make sure to make it work. There are not enough words to describe his love for his family. He enjoyed organizing family events, making and decorating cakes, always going the "extra mile" when family needed it, and though he had many things to do, he made sure his family came first. When it came to football season, he was ready to support his brothers and the rest of the Ozona Lions in all sports. He was his brothers biggest fan! He was always ready to support Mark by making special designed shirts for the family and always made sure to attend all of his little brother Matt's games. However, when it came to Sundays, you wouldn't see him in any other color but blue. He was one of the Dallas Cowboy's biggest fans. Even though family members would tease him the Cowboys wouldn't go far, he always supported them and had hope for a Super Bowl ring.

Mikey will always be remembered for his unconditional love and going above and beyond for his family and friends.

He is survived by his parents: Michael and Maria Ybarra; brothers: Mark Ybarra, Matt Ybarra & AJ Ramos; Sister: Rosa Bella Ramos; grandparents: Pete and Elma Ybarra; Alberto and Estella Ramos; Aunts and uncles: Alberto & Belinda Ramos Jr., Guadalupe& Amy Porras, Jr; Timothy & Jasmine Porras, Armando & Tracy Trevino, Codie & Vanessa Porras and Melissa Porras; many cousins, great cousins, and great uncles and great aunts.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandfathers and great-grandmothers.
