Jerry Lee Beasley, a retired Computer Systems Sales Manager and longtime substitute math teacher in Granbury High School, died January 3, 2017 in San Antonio. He was 78.

Jerry was born July 14, 1938 in Ozona, Texas to parents Sam and Nola Beasley. He married his childhood sweetheart, Cecilia Cooke, and attended the University of Texas after graduating from Ozona High School. Following graduation from college in 1961, he began his computer career as a programmer with the National Security Agency. He worked on the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo projects at NASA then joined the sales office in San Antonio for 25 years.

He retired to Granbury, Texas, in 1995 and began substituting at the High School in the math department. He loved teaching, working with the students, and especially enjoyed following the school's athletic teams.

In recent years he moved to San Antonio to be near family and for health reasons. He resided at Emerald Oaks Retirement Community fostering many new friendships.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Cecilia Cooke Beasley, his sister Sammie Sue Bussey and nephew Bob Amthor. His three children and their spouses survived him, also Six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A remembrance gathering was held January 6 at Emerald Oaks and graveside services held January 9 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Ozona, Texas.
