Louise Elizabeth Baker, 87, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, in Reagan County Care Center, Big Lake. She was born Feb. 18, 1929, to Willie/Connie Hellums of San Saba. She married J.B. Baker on May 3, 1946, in San Saba. The couple later moved to the town of Barnhart where she served as postmaster for 31 years. Mrs. Baker was one of the originators of the Barnhart Community dinners and active within the community for many years.
Mrs. Baker is preceded in death by her husband, J.B., of 60 years; her parents; brother Leroy Hellums; sisters Willie Ray Mackie and Wilma Morgan; niece Glenda Morgan; and grandson Lee Cuba.
She is survived by her children, Mary Parkey and husband Gordon of Iowa Park; Carolyne Martin and husband Dennis Lee of Tucson, Arizona; son Jimmy Baker and wife Linda of Barnhart; grandchildren Johnny Martin and wife Amy of Grape Creek, Tammy Kurszewski and husband Joe of Burk- burnett, Grant Cuba of Barnhart, Shala Baker of Midland, Laurel Lambert and husband Charles of Holliday, Kevin Martin of Tucson, Arizona and June Reitz of Lakeside City; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and various nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ozona on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 at 10 a.m. Condolences can be left for the family at Johnsons-funeralhome.com.
