Sergio Gonzalez

Sergio Gonzalez died Friday, Oct. 14 at a Midland hospital. Viewing will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Oct. 18 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Mass will follow at 1 p.m. today, Oct. 18 with Mike Dinio officiating. Interment will follow at Lima Cemetery in Ozona.

He was born April 16, 1946 to Eufemia Gonzalez in Laredo and lived in Sheffield and Iraan where he was raised by his grandparents, Celestino and Manuelita Gonzalez. He graduated from Iraan High School in 1965 and married Virginia Flores. He moved Midland in 1975 and worked for Caliche Drilling, RK Petroleum, and Key Energy from 1975 to 2003.

He is survived by his wife; his son, Sergio Gonzalez Jr. of Plano; three daughters, Eduwina Galindo and Yvonne Vargas, both of Midland and Lydia Madrid of Garland; his five brothers, Ernest Petralva of Midland, Jerry Gonzalez, Reynaldo Mendoza, Ovidio Mendoza, and Mario Petralva, all of Iraan; and several grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
